Some popular names dominated sales in PWCC’s just completed October Premier Auction, which saw 219 cards sell for over $12 million combined.
Among those setting new record prices for their respective grades:
A new high-end card shop has opened in the shadows of the New England Patriots home stadium.
Along with the usual array of unopened products and graded cards for sale, CardVault features a massive walk-in steel vault to house some of the shop’s most expensive cards, a lounge area with plush seating, multiple HD TVs and a sound system for game playing or music from guest DJs who will appear on occasion.
The business is operated by Big Night, a Boston area company that is involved in a variety of entertainment projects including a case and box breaking business.
Located in the Patriot Place shopping center at Gillette Stadium, the 1,600-square-foot facility offers consulting services including rare card procurement, grading submission services, appraisals, collection audits and other options. They’re planning trade nights, pop-ups, athlete/celebrity signings and meet-and-greets.
Layton Sports Cards’ new facility in Apopka, FL had a daytime visitor…but probably not the kind you’d like to see.
A UPS Store employee in Kentucky has been arrested in connection with the theft of sports cards.
One of the most avid San Francisco 49ers fans and collectors is Brendan Clarke. He’s not a Bay Area guy, though.
In fact, he grew up in New Zealand in the 1990s, where a Starter jacket led him to become a fan of the team.
