Notes: ESPN on Grading; Talking Babe-o-Bilia; NBA Top Shot Guy vs. Topps, More

When hundreds of thousands of cards are arriving every week, it’s easy to understand why PSA needed to call timeout.  The company’s recent decision to pause most lower cost authentication and grading work until it can made some headway on a massive backlog of orders means bulk submitters are largely either on the sidelines or utilizing the services of another company.

Beckett and SGC are backlogged, too, meaning more new business for newcomer CSG.  The whole thing even caught the attention of ESPN, which published a story Thursday.

A baseball autographed by Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and other members of the 1927 Yankees has come home to Johnstown, PA–nearly 94 years after Ruth parked a batting practice pitch over the wall before an exhibition game against a team of locals.
